Ryan Fitzpatrick Texts Teammates an Apparent Retirement Message

After 17 years in the NFL, Ryan Fitzpatrick appears to have announced his retirement.

The quarterback texted teammates a message with a very long list of names of players he’s played with, along with the words, “Forever grateful for the magical ride.”

Teammate Fred Jackson posted it on Twitter with his own message of appreciation saying, “Congrats on a Helluva career, Fitzy!! Loved sharing the field with you!! The gratitude is all mine!!”

Fitzpatrick signed a one-year, $10 million deal with Washington in March 2021.

According to ESPN, during his 17 seasons, he started 147 games, throwing for 34,990 yards and 223 touchdowns with 169 interceptions. He began his career as a seventh-round draft pick for the Rams and went on to play for the Cincinnati Bengals, Buffalo Bills, Tennessee Titans, Houston Texans, New York Jets, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Miami Dolphins, and Washington.
